Sounds like y'all had a blast, I'm envious. PeaceBang, I wanted to say thanks for leaving a great comment over at Transient and Permanent on the "Who's a UU?" thread, and for receiving the original post in the spirit it was intended. Sorry I didn't say thank you sooner, I've been away at a conference and then playing catch-up. Take care.

Ah, no.

By far, the funniest moment of the visit was, after four hours of walking around Boston, Fausto said,

“Should we take the subway back or walk? It’s just another mile and a half…”

CC

PB, don't you remember? Mrs Philocrites was trying to get us to smile, so she asked us all to say, "Principles and Purposes". Click here to jog your memory as to what ensued.

Of COURSE you can comment on the shoes!! That's why we love you!! They are actually bright grassy green and are called Kangaroos. They have a li'l pocket on them if you like to go jogging and put your key in there or something.

PeaceBang does not jog. PeaceBang walks briskly, at the very most. PeaceBang mostly still lives up to her occasional childhood nickname of "Pokey."

Looking at that photo, PeaceBang more fully understands why people occasionally look at her feet and burst into laughter, asking "How is it that you don't just tip over?" (They're cloven hooves. Don't tell).

Fausto, are you actually CHORTLING in that photo? I do believe you are.

The funniest parts of the afternoon were whenever I'd point out another public acknowledgment of the legacy of one or another Famous UU, and CC would invariably squeal, "Yay us!"

I just dropped ChaliceChick and the CSO off at Logan Airport, after an afternoon walking around Boston and paying our respects to Big Bill Channing, Arlington St. Church, First and Second Church, the Monument to the Discovery of Ether, the (Make Way For) Ducklings, the Monument to the Founders, 25 Beacon, Robert Gould Shaw, Kings Chapel, John Winthrop, Rhys Williams, Paul Revere, John Hancock (no, not the insurance company), the Boston Five (no, not the late lamented bank) and the spot where they shuffled off this mortal coil, Old South, Sam Adams, Faneuil Hall, the Union Oyster House and Daniel Webster's lunch counter, and the Boston Stone. CC was grateful and amazed to realize that there is a place in the world where you can visit three different UU churches in the course of only a leisurely stroll, and where the public monuments are as likely as not to honor either Famous UUs or scientific achievement!

I enjoyed myself immensely at the picnic and hope there will be another sometime. Thank all of you for bringing your bad selves.
