He still looks great, no?
I remember seeing Rex on Broadway in “The Pirates of Penzance” in the late 80’s. He was cute but I only had eyes for Treat Williams as the Pirate King.
What a fun show. It’s one of the few I’ve done twice and would happily do again. It’s just a big piece of candy set to music.

I saw Ron Moody as the First Lord of the Admiralty in HMS Pinafore at about the same time. Made me want to run out and play Fagin all over again. (I already had my real estate license.)
If I had seen Linda Ronstadt in Pirates I’d have followed her anywhere.

A La Queen, it just means that you’re too young to remember an extremely feather-haired, blow-dried teen idol named Rex Smith crooning “You Take My Breath Away” in around 1982… don’t worry, you didn’t miss much.
