My choir director and I would shore like to get our hands on any choral recording of “Woyaya” before next week, and we hoped you might be able to help.

Just a quick google and it looks like Amazon has an album by Osibisa and also Art Garfunkel that include renditions. There are samples, but it may not be as choral as you are looking for.

Hey!
Donald Wilson told me that you were looking for this:

The only problem is, I looked for whom to credit on the website, and I don’t know anything aside from it being a multi-part woman’s choir. Sorry! But I hope this helps.

Not a choral recording, but if you’re desperate, you can hear “Woyaya” as it was introduced to the General Assembly a few years ago. The song is introduced about 54 minutes into this video. (The link is a RealAudio file.)

It’s in the new hymnal suplement, Singing the Journey.

oops…I see you said “recording”. Can’t help you there.

The closest I have is a recording by Osibasa, but that would not be appropriate for church.
The Kim and Reggie Harris version is pretty good.

The artist(s) on that mp3 Nadya linked may be Olympia’s Daughters.

Hi Peace, thanks for the note. Funny, how we’ve come to a point where, in this weird world we live in, one has to be “in the closet” about the C word, but if one is a pagan or atheist, one can be as out as one can possibly humanly be.
Just when I thought the world couldn’t get any weirder. LOL!
