I think each generation needs a George Carlin, to question the status quo and call out those that, as Kevin said, use religion to "a) make money and b) control people for their own ends."  

I only wish we could hear his thoughts about the outpouring of attention he is getting NOW.  It would be hillarious! 

Thanks for posting the link PB, and for reminding me of the great man that GC was.  May his comedy live forever in the minds of rational people and on cable tv.
