I hanging out on the couch alot now because it so COLD out but I still like to go outside aLOT but not in the dark anymore
Mom and I we did go outside for pee pee time last night and there was lots of howlings I thought it was dog friends but mom said it kyodies, or ki-otees? they like wolfs only not NICE wolfs like Larry and Pam Wolfe who live across the street who I loves so much and Charlotte Wolfe who once did pick me up and give me the biggest hug. Like BAD wolfs. They like to eat you with big mean ouchie teeth

Max got his first bath in the bathtub and is soft and buttery. He loves being out in the autumn days and prances like a little circus pony the moment he gets outside. All he wants to do is chase the ball in the backyard. I still can’t break him of the habit of falling asleep in the Exact Middle Of the Bed.

Speaking of the beds, Maxfield got a new one for the church office. He likes to snuffle it. He likes to drag it around. He likes to shake it in his mouth. And he loves to sleep in it. Photos below.

Also in the Bed Department, Ermengarde decided to celebrate my getting cast in “Urinetown” by peeing in the bed — twice.

Ermengarde, I am onto you. I know that you drink a ton of water just to unleash it on me in vengeance for having a canine overnight guest who kept you from your food and litter box last weekend. You know how I know? Because there’s no odor and no color to your little floods, you rotten striped monster!

Max is attending rehearsal with me on Sunday afternoon. We are thinking of giving him a cameo role where he ambles onstage, sniffs a fire hydrant, and is promptly arrested by Officer Lockstock. (Who sings my favorite number in the show.)

All is cuteness.

I came home on Tuesday after class and someone was being very affectionate!

On Wednesday I got whomped with incredible aches and a pretty high fever and had to bow out early from a church program. I got home, made some chicken soup (not vegetarian, but I’m glad I didn’t purge it during my recent conversion), and climbed into bed.

Ermengarde soon came to see me and posted herself by my head, petting my brow with her little white paw. No kidding. She only does this when I’m sick or having a nocturnal panic attack (which she will occasionally predict just in advance of its onset, and wake me just in time for me to start deep breathing and stay out of really dangerous waters). It is one of the sweetest, most lovely and loving touches I have experienced in my life. She is such a wonderful nurse.

And now we have Max, who does his best but is like a really cute but inept candystriper on the ward. “Hi, how are you feeling today!? I brought you some flowers! I ate some of them, but here they are should I put them in a vase for you wait is that a pair of SOCKS on the floor? Can I HAS one? How about I chew one and you can has the other one okay? How about this magazine do you want it or can I knock it off the bed?” After his little flurry of ridiculous activity he settles down in a tiny ball and presses himself against me.

I shouldn’t tease about him so much. After all, who came up to me last night when I was shivering and burning up in the kitchen waiting for the soup to heat up, and dropped his well-worn rawhide on my lap?
